Every year I host a fundraising event called “The Pizza Pump Party”, and this is the event’s 5th year! The objective of the gathering is to fund raise money for a specific organization within the LGBT community, and to bring awareness to the organization’s goal, purpose, and mission. As someone who is part of the LGBT community I think it’s important to give back to the younger generations, and to those of us who struggle with society – – specifically because of a part of who we are. The best I can do is to help them find the tools and resources, through chosen organizations, to get back on their emotional and physical feet. It gets better, it certainly did for me.
Two years ago we raised funds for RECLAIM, an organization working to increase access to mental health support for queer and trans youth, ages 13-25, who are marginalized because of their gender identity, gender expression, and/or sexual orientation.
Last year I chose to fundraise for THE NAMING PROJECT; An organization that strives to create places of safety for youth of all sexual orientations and gender identities where faith is shared and healthy life-giving community is molded. A place where youth can explore and share faith; reach out to others; and advocate for systemic change in church and society.
This year I’ll be fundraising for the two organizations above, including a third (THE BRIDGE FOR YOUTH). The goal is at least $1000 for each organization.
This year’s event will be a live event, that people can tune in to watch. Im very passionate about the objective of the fundraiser, and I hope we can work together to create some support for those in the Twin Cities who have lost everything at such a young age.
A pre-recorded concert will be airing on my website (Kasanoworld.com) on Saturday February 27th, 2021 at 4pm CST!
It would be an honor to have you on board, with your support we can make a difference for the Youth of these three organizations. It’s important to bring awareness to the young who are unable to provide for themselves, and I’m confident that even helping one child can make a huge difference. There’s a child or teen out there waiting for a catalyst, and I’m hoping together we can be that catalyst. This event is more than just an event, it’s an experience that will offer an opportunity to someone who really needs it. Help me make this experience memorable so we can continue to help our youth grow into respectable citizens and residents of the greater Twin Cities area.
