MAHARU, a script written by Kasano Mwanza with Illustrations
SYNOPSIS: For centuries, this family’s sacred ritual has been passed down through melody and movement, but for the first time the sacred ritual doesn’t work. As a result, a devastating curse is woven into the family’s tree: for every daughter born, a father must perish. Guided by her family, and watched by a trio of ancient Orishas, Maharu (the first daughter to endure the curse) must destroy the root of the curse and restore the sacred ritual.
